Scheduled Platform Maintenance

Dear traders,

Please be advised of a scheduled downtime of the Spectre.ai trading platform between this Saturday (12th October) 8am GMT and Sunday (13th October) noon 12pm GMT. During this short period, the platform will undergo significant updates including the much desired platform conversion from ETH to USD. This means that starting from this Sunday, after the update is completed, you will notice your account balance (and everything else relating to the currency used on your account) in USD, and no longer in ETH.

Please note, this update is just the first part of the transition to fiat money and does not yet include implementation of payment providers for fiat deposits and withdrawals. This will take place gradually over the next few weeks as solutions for various geographical regions will be getting added. All platform functionalities will remain intact, but the first major changes you’ll see will be your balance displaying in USD only and also your trade sizes in USD. Wallet account trading will not be affected in any way and will remain a fully decentralized trading method.

It’s important to note that your ETH balance will be converted to USD based on the ETH to USD exchange rate on Saturday night at the time of the conversion. Also, this change will eliminate the FX exposure to ETH volatility on traders’ deposits and withdrawals which may be favorable for many users.

Few of the likely questions that may arise and answers to them:

* Can I still make a deposit in ETH? — Yes, you can still use the familiar depositing method by sending ETH from your registered ETH address to the Spectre.ai deposit ETH address, during which the current exchange rate will be used to convert the deposited ETH into USD and applied to your account. Please note that this address will be different from the current one ending in “228” and the last digits of the new address will be confirmed here after the change, so that you can also verify the deposit address you see inside the platform.

* Can I still withdraw in ETH? — Yes, again, you will follow the same familiar withdrawal process and your withdrawn USD balance will be converted to ETH based on the current exchange rate and sent to your registered ETH address.

* When can I start using my debit/credit card to manage my deposits and withdrawals? — During the next few weeks we will be implementing payment providers for you to utilize for deposits and withdrawals. The availability of the payment providers will depend on your region, and our goal is for a new region to be added every other week until all are covered.

* What fees and deposit/withdrawal limits are in place? — The deposit/withdrawal limits will remain as they are now while there are no deposit fees. As previously, there is a fee for withdrawals and you are notified of it prior to any withdrawal.

* Can I still trade without depositing? Yes, you are still able to trade fully decentralised by using our unique Wallet account technology, without you having to make a single deposit.

We thank you for your continued support and hope this change will positively affect your overall trading experience, particularly for those who prefer to transact in fiat currency.

If you have any questions on this change, kindly send over an email to support@spectre.ai and we will be happy to get back to you as soon as possible.

Safe trading!
